LOE November Update
November Update From LOE:
November, 2024 Ladies of Elks (LoE)
Although the month of October was a slow month with Mother Nature affecting many of us, we have some big reminders for upcoming events.
The Deep Creek Civic Association is holding their 1st Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday< November 2 at Deep Creek Golf Course where proceeds will benefit the Deep Creek Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elk’s Harry Anna Trust Fund. Harry and Anna Miller donated land and a building to establish the original Florida Elk’s Hospital for Crippled Children. These funds now support many charitable endeavors such as the Florida Elk’s Youth Camp, the Florida Elk’s Children’s Therapy Services and Autism Awareness. It was brought to the LoE‘s attention, and without much time to spare, that quite a few volunteers were still needed. Our LoE’s stepped up, once again, who volunteered and have volunteered their spouses and significant others. They now have enough volunteers. So proud to be an Elk!
On November 3rd, American Made will be back. All ticket holders from the original July 4th date will be honored and we will also be selling additional tickets. This time there will be a food truck.
The LoE is preparing to hold our annual Rummage Sale. Drop off for your donations will be November 4 and 5 (Monday and Tuesday) from 9-5. The sale dates will be November 6 & 7 (Wednesday and Thursday) from 9-5 and Friday, November 8 from 9-12. Bring your friends and neighbors. This sale is open to the public!
Directly after our monthly meeting on November 14th, the Ladies of Elk’s will be putting up our Annual Gift Giving Tree with the wish list tags of children from the Boys and Girls Club of Charlotte County and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Charlotte County. Please take a tag or two to help make a happy Christmas for some children who may have lost everything during our recent disasters. The gifts will be picked up by the two organisations after our December 12th LoE meeting.
The Deep Creek LoE had a good show of support for the FLOE fundraising at Live Oak, FL this past weekend. This was a 300 mile trip with 4 hours of driving time. Thank you ladies and their spouses for representing our lodge.
Once again, please consider giving a few hours of your time to volunteer. There are many things in which you can do to help your Lodge and make friends with others by doing so.
Respectfully,
Audrey Egalton, President
