We’ve all heard the phrase “practice makes perfect,” and after more than 20 years of practice, many Elks would argue that Jerry Goodale has perfected the role of ENF Chair.
Within a couple years of becoming an Elk, Goodale felt drawn to the benevolence of the Elks National Foundation and became the ENF Chair of his Lodge. His Lodge has met the GER’s per-capita goal every year since!
“After finding out what the ENF is about, I realized that I can donate on my own, and that’s great,” Goodale says. “But I can make an even bigger difference if I motivate other Lodge members to donate along with me.”
Goodale explains that after being ENF Chairperson for so long, “it’s not that hard” anymore. So, who better to ask for ENF advice? Goodale has a few suggestions for newer ENF Chairs.
“Whatever fundraising idea you have, go through with it,” he encourages. “You never know if it will work until you try.”
Jerry is right. As we celebrate ENF month, keep in mind that no matter how big or small the fundraiser, getting Lodge members talking positively about the ENF makes a difference!
