Dream Queen Pageants give me the opportunity to put all of my abilities and achievements together for the chance to be an important figurehead in my community. How often do you get to positively influence society on a mass scale; speak out on issues you feel strongly about; get scholarships and major support for college; and have a ton of fun while doing it? I'm very grateful to have held titles such as 2nd Runner-Up Miss Illinois Teen America 2003, 1st Runner-Up Miss Illinois Teen USA 2004, and most recently, Miss Rockford 2006, a five county regional preliminary to the Miss America Scholarship Competition. I'm competing in Miss Illinois next June and can't wait!
Tools for Success The ENF's Most Valuable Student Scholarship has definitely impacted my college experience thus far and stands out among the rest. Education is the most important tool in achieving success, a fact that has never been more evident while I'm studying hard in college. The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks not only greatly eased the financial burden of Loyola University, but they also showcased my leadership and scholarship at the convention and awards ceremony last spring in Springfield, Ill. I thoroughly enjoyed that weekend and greatly appreciate all that the Elks have done for me. I'm proud to be able to put this renowned achievement on my resume, and I'm better able to study at Loyola University, all for which I will forever be truly thankful.
