Calling All Leaders!

Are you interested in sharing your ideas to shape the future of the Elks scholar experience? Would you like to get to know other Elks scholars, Elks and ENF staff members?

If so, we have a great opportunity for you! Join the Elks Scholar Advisory Board. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to get directly involved with the Elks National Foundation, become a member of a national board, and help us better serve Elks scholars. What is the SAB?

The Elks Scholar Advisory Board is a group of Elks scholars - current and alumni - who advise the ENF on its scholar relation efforts. The Board is composed of 12 members: one Legacy freshman, one MVS freshman, one Legacy sophomore, one MVS sophomore, one Legacy junior, one MVS junior, one Legacy senior, one MVS senior, three at-large members, and the Elks Scholar Alum of the Year. Freshman, sophomore, junior and senior Board members serve for four years from the date they are appointed, at-large members serve for two-year staggered terms, and the Alum of the Year serves for one year.

What are the responsibilities of board members?

  • Attending the following annual Scholar Advisory Board meetings, all expenses paid;
      1. Annual Meeting in Chicago early December
      2. Convention Meeting in Kansas City, Mo. (June 26-June 30, 2025)
  • Piloting Elks scholar programs in your area.
  • Attend occasional online meetings throughout the year.
  • Communicating and providing feedback by email throughout the year.
  • Adhering to and furthering the SAB Mission Statement:
    • In order to create better communities and promote full engagement by all, the SAB creates an inclusive and expansive Elks family striving to educate and serve others by:
      • Directly engaging other Elks scholars
      • Creating processes and tools to encourage sustainable engagement in the future
      • Serve as role models for service for Elks scholars
      • Representing scholars’ views and voices to the Foundation and to the Elks
      • Fostering connections between Elks scholars and Elks

Apply to join the SAB!

In this applications cycle, three new members will join the Elks Scholar Advisory Board. Positions are available for one 2024 Most Valuable Student scholar and one 2024 Legacy Awards scholar. They will serve a four-year term on the Scholar Advisory Board. There is also an opening for one At-Large Representative who will serve a two-year term . This position is for an Elks Scholar who is not a first-year student, with preference given to current undergraduate students.
