Scholarship Payment FAQs

A: No, while your funds can be used for tuition, they can also be applied for any cost of attendance that is billable through your university account. This includes but is not limited to tuition, books, enrollment fees, dining plans, room & board, technology, and transportation fees.

A: Legacy Awards and MVS scholarships are intended for an undergraduate degree. Try to use your funds during undergrad and keep us in the loop every year on your plan for your scholarship balance. Any funds deferred more than seven years beyond your award date will need to undergo an official review.

A: Email us. This answer is nuanced. We cannot guarantee loan repayment to anyone.

A: Usually. If your study abroad program is billed through a U.S. college/university, which doesn't need to be your regular school, your scholarship funds can be used. We cannot send funds to a school outside of the United States, nor can we send them to a travel business.

A: Yes! Email us and we are happy to make changes to your payment schedule. Whether it is accelerating your schedule to receive it all in three years or deferring your funds in anticipation of a more expensive junior/senior year, just keep in touch with us and we can make accommodations.

A: We are happy to defer funds for gap years, mission trips, or any other delay in beginning school or break during school. To do that, you'll need to email us and let us know about your situation.

A: If it is a new school year, all you need to do is send us a verification of enrollment form from that school. If you are transferring in the middle of a school year, email us.

A: If you are still in school or have plans to be and could use the funds, email us!

A: Yes, but you have to let us know about your part-time status.
