The Lordsburg Elks hosted a Bicycle Rodeo on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Hidalgo Medical Services Parking lot. In addition to learning bicycle safety, traffic rules and receiving free bike helmets, the nearly 50 youth in attendance were eligible to win a variety of prizes ranging from water toys to swimming passes to brand new bicycles. The event, sponsored with an Elks National Foundation Gratitude Grant, also saw Elks members repairing bicycles for kids throughout the event. Agencies assisting the Elks included the Lordsburg Police Department, Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, Community Action Agency, CAA and the Youth Volunteer Corps.
