On May 1, 2022, the Tucson Elks Lodge #385 held its annual Youth Scholarship, Strings and Americanism program. The Lodge #385 Scholarship donated $7,900.00 and the AZ Elks Association Scholarship program donated another $12,000.00 to 6 of our 10 award winners. Our Harry Dobiesz Strings Program (named after late member Harry Dobiesz) gave 2 violins, 2 violas and 1 cello worth $3,000.00. In addition, we had our Americanism winner! Golf Team from Tucson AZ Lodge #385 won second place in the South District Golf Tournament on April 23, 2022. They shot a score of 59 in a scramble tournament. Tucson AZ Elks Lodge #385 donated 24 soccer balls and basketballs to support Physical Education programs at Tucson AZ Nash Elementary School on Wednesday April 20, 2022. On March 23, 2022, Tucson Elks Lodge #385 donated backpacks filled with school supplies, a bicycle and safety helmet to 25 children at Tucson Nash Elementary School as part of the Elks Lodge 385 Annual Cloth A Child program. Bicycles were donated by Tucson's Lugo Charities, helmets by Tucson Medical Center, and backpacks by Elks Lodge #385. In picture ER Wayne Burns and some happy kids. Getting ready for Elks Lodge 385, the AZ south district Hoop Shoot District at Frank & Edith Morton Clubhouse Boys & Girls Club in Tucson, AZ on Saturday, January 21, 2022. For nearly 50 years, the Hoop Shoot has been developing gritty kids. The Elks Hoop Shoot is a free throw program for youth ages 8 to13. Tucson Elks Lodge 385, ER Wayne Burns and 3rd Year Trustee, Jesse Lugo, Principal, Kira Rendon and her children loading 25 Christmas bicycles that were donated to Ochoa Elementary School in South Tucson, AZ. This year’s 13th Annual Elks Lodge 385 Bike In A Box event bicycle delivery was prolonged due to logistics issues that prohibited our event to occur. Instead, we had churches, schools, nonprofit organizations, and youth support agencies either pickup the bicycles or we scheduled to deliver them as we received our 500 purchased bicycles from our vendor.
