The annual Home Service picnic was held on July 21. The families were treated to a picnic lunch and more.
The picnic is an opportunity for families to network with others facing the same daily challenges. Two of the kids enjoyed racing in their wheelchairs in a safe space free from obstacles. Other outdoor activities included cornhole and basketball. Face painting and temporary tattoos were a big hit for kids and adults alike.
One of the highlights of the picnic was the distribution of a family bag containing needed household and hygiene products. The picnic had a back-to-school theme in that the children each picked a backpack from the piles of various colors and received a bag of back-to-school supplies that were graciously donated by members of 2257.
Thanks to all who helped with the picnic by putting in time with the planning, purchasing, food preparation, serving, setup, teardown, and donations.
