To: All Madera Elks Lodge Members
It is already the month of December and where has the year gone? We have been able to move forward with a number of projects and the calendar going forward is full of things to be done. The first is to let everyone know we will have the memorial service for all members who have passed this year on Sunday December 03, 2017 at 1 P.M. please attend if possible. Also for those looking to attend a fun event and support the community Friday December 1st we will be holding the Madera 20/30 club annual Casino Night at the lodge and tickets are available at the bar.
We have also been able to get some things around the Lodge done, such as the re-carpeting of the basement after the broken water main, thank you to David Opfergelt for all the hard work and hand holding of the contractors to get this work done, it looks great. The lights at the barbeque pits are all repaired and back in service so those cooking crews looking to barbeque it is no longer dark, thank you to Gary Gregory for all of his time and assistance on the repair of the barbeque lights and the installation of the bar back lights. We have been able to complete the lighting of the bar back thanks to the generosity of one of our members’, it looks great. We have placed the order for the window over the bar thanks to the generosity of 14 of our members who collectively stepped up and said let’s get this done, the window has been ordered and the manufacturing company has scheduled it for production the week of the 11th, wish it could have been sooner but that is the way somethings go.
We went to Sacramento for the Mid-year convention and we learned of new things we will be working on and what changes are coming I believe everyone had a good time and we also got to visit some very interesting lodges.
I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year, and please stop by the lodge and participate in some of the great events we have coming up and check out the hard work of your fellow members.
Thank you to all,
Mark Meyers
