DUNKIRK ELKS LODGE #1776 - NEWSLETTER MAY & JUNE 2026

From our Exalted Ruler:

Greetings All, Spring has sprung!  The world is turning green, the flowers are popping up and we have big things happening at your lodge.  Be sure to come

see us!  Thank you all for the prayers during my recent hospital stay.  I appreciate them all and am on the road to feeling better.

LODGE MEETINGS ARE THE FIRST AND THIRD THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH!!!

COME GET INVOLVED!

**WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING:**

State President Jeff & Beth Willoughby visited our lodge on April 10th.  We visited and had dinner & great conversation.  Jeff’s motto this year has been, MAKE IT HAPPEN.  He and Beth set a great example for us to follow.  State President Willoughby and wife have only a few lodges in Indiana that they haven’t visited. There are 52 lodges in Indiana.  Jeff’s cause this year was for Parkinson’s Awareness.  They have almost raised $50,000 thru their travels and different

events. The money will go to ROCK STEADY BOXING, “Knock out Parkinsons.” This is a therapy which has gotten many people up and walking, slowing the progression of this dreadful disease.  Look it up, it's amazing.  With Jeff and Beth came our incoming State President & spouse Angie & Keith O’Donnell from

Elwood lodge. Angie will be installed June 6th as the first Female State President

in Indiana.  Angie has asked me to be her Sargent of Arms.  She is from our East Central District, if you can and would like to further your knowledge about the

Elks, please go on elks.org, members, and register to attend June 5th thru 7th

And support her.  It will be a historical weekend and a lot of fun, they have planned good food and entertainment.  I would love to see you there.  Come and celebrate.

I participated in the District Meeting on April 4th.  Dunkirk Elks 1776 was recognized 3 times.  I was so proud every time our lodge name was mentioned.

* In the last 5 years our membership has gone up 10.9%

* Dunkirk Elks per-capita for ENF is the highest in our District being $16.67.

* Kade Sommers received $1,000 scholarship from ENF, (Joe & Sue Sommers grandson)

Thank you to all of you who help, MAKE IT HAPPEN.

all the machines and $10 in a pot.  They start the machines and give 3 minutes

for play and whoever has the most money wins the pot.  They will do this as

long as we have people who want to.  Arrow will be furnishing pizza and have drawings and prizes.   It should be lots of fun.  This is an open night (bring a
