It goes without saying that the COVID-19 pandemic has altered the day-to-day of every Elks scholar. As a scholarship provider, we are concerned about the well-being of our students impacted by the outbreak.
Check out this article with some tips about how campus closures may affect financial aid. The National Scholarship Providers Association also has a great running list of resources, some specifically for students and young professionals in the workforce. In addition, don't forget we have a myriad of financial aid resources and scholarship databases posted on our Scholar Resource page.
Here at the Foundation, ENF program participants, volunteers and staff have been greatly affected. ENF Director Jim O'Kelley posted a must-read blog post that discusses the current status of all of our programs—including the upcoming 2020 Most Valuable Student Leadership Weekend. With the cancellation of many local Lodge events, we’ve also recently updated our Legacy Awards service requirement details.
Above all, please know that we are in this together, #ElksFamily. If the current climate has affected your collegiate plans, and in turn the status of your scholarship, please do not hesitate to reach out to our office. We can help you plan. You can reach us at scholarship@elks.org or 773/755-4732.
You are an important member of the #ElksFamily—stay safe and healthy!
