2012 was a great year for Elks scholars. Check out all the ways Elks scholars connected with the Elks family last year.

• Awarded four $500 Cornerstone Grants to partner with Elks scholars in their community service.
• Named 2006 Legacy Awards scholar Zach Vruwink the 2012 Elks Alum of the Year.
• Met with the Elks Scholar Advisory Board in Austin, Texas, to discuss Elks scholar initiatives for the coming year (and enjoy some barbeque!).
• Caught up with 13 past Most Valuable Student Top Winners to find out where they are now.
• Connected Elks scholars to local Lodges through Elks Scholar Meet-Ups in Austin, Texas; Corvallis, Ore.; Tucson, Ariz.; and Golden, Colo.
• Volunteered in the name of the Elks during the 2012 Elks Scholar Month of Service.
• Stayed connected through the Elks Scholar Facebook page and @ElksScholars on Twitter.
• Shared the Elks scholar experience with 72 national finalists and their families at the 2012 National Hoop Shoot Finals in Springfield, Mass.
• Awarded six Gunther & Lee Weigel Medical School Scholarships to Elks scholars pursuing their dreams of becoming doctors.
• Shared Elks scholar thank you messages through a special holiday video message.
